Quality Collegiate Pre-Season Wrestling in the Mid-Atlantic Region (Virginia)

Welcome to the 2015 Virginia Tech Hokie Open Wrestling Tournament Web site! This year’s tournament will once again feature an OPEN division (any POST-High School wrestlers) and a FRESHMAN / SOPHOMORE division. This year’s tournament finds 360 wrestlers competing at VA Tech as we kick off the action on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 10:01 AM. We will once again be wrestling on 14 mats to ensure a fast-paced tournament that we expect to finish by 4:30 PM. FloWrestling will be streaming the event all day. We have 20 teams with 327 wrestlers joining us at this year’s edition of the Hokie Open as the 2015 – 2016 season gets underway. Once again the tournament will feature TWO DIVISIONS:

  • OPEN Division

  • Division I – American University (Washington, DC), Appalachian State University (NC), Campbell University (NC), Columbia University (NYC), Duke University (NC) (28), Gardner-Webb University (NC), George Mason University (VA), North Carolina State University (16), Stanford University (CA) (35), University of North Carolina (24), University of Tennessee – Chattanooga (45), University of Virginia (19), Virginia Military Institute, Virginia Tech (10), West Virginia University (20)
  • Division II – Limestone College (NC) – #11 in D-2, Region II for 2015-2016; Notre Dame College (OH) – #5 in D-2 Pre-Season Poll, #1 D-2 at end of 2014-15; King University (TN)
  • NJCAA – Middlesex College (New Jersey)

Tournament Date/Times: Sunday, November 8, 2015; doors open to teams at 6:45 AM, skin checks at 7:45 AM, weigh-ins at 8:00 AM, doors open to public at 9:00 AM, tournament begins at 10:01 AM sharp.

This year the Hokie Open returns to the VA Tech Campus.

Over the years the Hokie Open has featured competitions held on campus at Virginia Tech's Rector Field House (Blacksburg, VA) as well as competitions held at the Salem Civic Center (Salem, VA).
